Location: Shenzhen, China
The design is inspired by the children’s puzzle game, Tangram. Seven triangles of varying heights are arranged to form the volume of this children’s hospital. The four taller triangles create efficiently connected inpatient wards, maximizing the surrounding landscape resources and bringing them into the patient rooms. The inpatient areas are designed in a four-zone interconnected model, facilitating communication and allocation between different departments. The façade is simple and vibrant, with a strong landmark presence, making it easy for children to recognize and remember. At night, the interior lighting transforms the building into a playful paper lantern. The interior spaces resemble an overturned palette, designed to offer children a joyful and enriching spatial experience.
